What does a bad website cost your business?

many factors determine the cost of a great website

Your business needs a great website – I’m here to help. You did say you wanted a great website, right?

I’ve been designing websites since 1999, and in Herndon/Reston, VA since 2010, and I have learned many ways to efficiently build and optimize websites, without sacrificing quality.

My clients will tell you that I offer fair and honest pricing, and a positive ROI.

  • Your website will be responsive, meaning it works on all mobile devices and PCs. Too many other firms charge extra for this service.
  • Your website will be search engine friendly, so Google and Bing will be happy.
  • Up to 25 pages of existing content will be moved to your new website.
  • WordPress as a content management engine, so you (or I) can maintain the content easily, and it can grow with you.
  • Your website will be optimized on my hosting service, with my proprietary blend of time-tested settings and add-ons.
  • 6 months of website hosting, with security patches/updates as needed.
  • 3 hours of content updates, if you need me to jump in and help.

When you partner with me, special things happen…

A few words about Return on Investment

There are too many shady players taking advantage of people by selling them low-quality work with hidden costs. Almost all web design firms (in Northern Virgina and elsewhere) focus on, well, design first. Make it pretty.

My focus is making your website work for you, by defining the problems that plague your website, and then rescuing your business from them! (oh, and still making sure the website looks great, too.)

You should select a website consultant by the return on investment they offer – the new website should strive to achieve specific business goals: an increase in sales, or signups, or request for a meeting. You spend money (wisely, with the right web firm) to make money (from a website that performs well).

If a new website generates new revenues that are 2x, 3x, even 10x or more of what it cost, then that will be a great return on your investment.

Your website will be customized to enhance your organization’s brand and success online. That level of effort also requires a financial commitment, and my experience is that smaller budgets won’t fuel your goals.

I offer ‘not-cheap’ websites for ‘not-cheap’ clients.

Yes, you could sign up with any number of free or very-low-cost ‘online website builder’ services, and you’ll have, well, ‘something‘ on the internet. But it’ll look like every other site from that service, and probably won’t keep up with you as you grow. It certainly won’t come with you if you want to leave that service, or worse, if they go out of business.

I customize an amazing design, based on your feedback of sites you like and dislike, that works for your business goals. Your logo and colors are then applied.

There are no design revisions. This saves you a lot of money: Less back & forth = lower cost.

Timeframe: 1-2 weeks

I design the perfect look (the suit) for your website, customized with your logo & branding colors, as well as the layout & features that your site needs. (the tailoring).

You get two ‘fittings’ (design review/revision), where you provide feedback and comments.

Timeframe: 2-4 weeks

A custom design and feature set, built from the ground up, just for you. It’s like a business suit designed to your exact measurements and fabric choices.

You get three ‘fittings’ (design review/revision), where you provide feedback and comments.

Timeframe: 6-8 weeks or more

All pricing levels cover the complete project: design, development, testing, setup, optimization.

If this aligns with your expectations, then you are in the right place. If not, well, good luck!

Less than $4 a day for a great website!

If you select the basic (silver/tall) package, your investment boils down to less than $2/day for an amazing website that delights your customers and makes/saves you money!

How do I figure that? The typical lifespan of a website design is about 3 years (after that, the design needs to be refreshed and the structure updated).

3 years = 36 months, and for sake of averages, 1 month = 30 days.

($1,996 / 36) / 30 = $1.85 (approx) a day.

Less than the cost of a great cup of coffee – so what’s holding you back?

A great website costs about a coffee a day!
