How to drive your website designer nuts!
(All in the spirit of fun and laughing a bit at human nature, right?)
- Client won't supply content
- Client thinks you'll magically make up content
- Client thinks you can use a competitor's content (it's called stealing!)
- Client needs the website to be done ASAP while simultaneously not supplying content or getting back to you during the design process
- Client is computer illiterate and expects you to design a wide-target audience website around their inabilities (Internet Explorer only; no scrolling allowed; "CLICK HERE" on links, etc)
- Client thinks they're a better graphic/UI designer than you are and micromanages you to ultimately creating a really bad website
- Towards the end of development, the client doesn't understand why you can't quickly redesign the whole site based on a sudden whim and still meet the deadline (or not charge more money!)
- Client does not understand "dummy text" and "dummy images" and subsequently hates all design concepts - worse when they still won't supply text or images
- Potential client doesn't understand why it costs so much, and always has some friend or relative who'd do it for $30 and a six-pack of beer
- This link, to a YouTube video, is about people looking for
film editors for 'free/good exposure', is all too true for
a variety of creative folks (web, print, film) and what we
hear all too often:
You'll
get exposure, and a credit!

This entire page is NOT my original content - I tried to credit (or leave credits in place) when I could remember where I found it.
If it's yours, and you want a link or even have it removed, just let me know.
