Content Management with WordPress

Many websites start out with humble beginnings — a few pages about your company, your services, contact information, maybe a newsletter page. I call these brochure websites. For many businesses, they work just fine.

But sometimes, a company will outgrow the static pages of a brochure website, and want a website that shows their ever-changing list of products or services.

These types of websites are called database-driven, using a content management system (CMS) that stores all the content in a centralized database on the web. WordPress is the CMS of choice for my clients.

Let’s look at my own website: It’s a breeze to be able to login, fill in a form that creates a new portfolio item, and have them appear in my portfolio without having to build each portfolio webpage by hand.
